Hi how do i check the porpition valve on the brake,
the brake light on the dash come on ,when you  move the wire on the valve the light goes off??

I have a '73 and I'm familiar with this valve.  If your brakes are working properly, it appears from your description that
this is an electrical issue.  Check the wire connection at the valve to insure it's tight and no corrosion is apparent.
