Bob,

I did clear the money out of the account.  Not because of this particular guy, I always transfer the money out of my PayPal account, always moving the money out of there.
But, I got a notice from them saying my account was negative by $950.00, since I had $50.00 in there at the time of the "chargeback".

Once I explained what has happened, the restored the account to a normal state, leaving me with a $50.00 balance.

All of this takes time, and is a huge waste of time.

That huge waste of time is worth more than $1000. I wouldn't return it even if you sell to someone else. Maybe losing a grand will teach this numbskull a lesson.

On a car that expensive, you should make it a NON-REFUNDABLE Deposit of at least $5000 if not $10,000...done by Bank to Bank Wire not PayPal.

Then the money is yours for sure.

I recently had my 1960 Eldorado Biarritz on Ebay, and for the first time in 8 years of being involved with buying and selling items on Ebay (more buying than selling), I have had a really terrible experience.

First of all, here is the expired listing that indicates the car was sold:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250315286051

Here is the new ebay listing:  http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250323041784

The car "Sold" for $69,999.00 which was the reserve.  That is my price for the car, in case anyone is interested.

I am not sure i know what you mean, but I have had discussions with the high bidder from the last auction.

The first guy that defaulted bid again in the car whn it was at about $36,000 and when I saw that, I blocked him as a bidder.  He is no longer a registered ebay member, at least not under that name.
