We have a 1955 Cad with the "superpower" engine.  It has two Rochester carbs.  We have not been able to find anyone here in Tampa who can work on them.  Any suggestions?

Thanks

I assume he means to tune a duel carb on engine. Working on any individual carb should be easy to find someone.

I am no expert but I am fairly confident that both carbs need tuning up at a minimum.  The car runs ok, but when running at any speed, if I step on the gas, it stumbles, coughs, and then catches.  Also, the mileage is abysmal, even for that type of car.

What are the two carbs fighting with each other?  :P

Do you have a CLC Roster? I assume also that you are in that local region. Someone in your region should have a referral.  Also, a technical advisor should be able to help.

Since you are in FL, have Daytona Parts rebuild the carbs.  They supply most parts stores with carb kits and they do rebuilding as well.

Good advice, but that is half the job, balancing them out on the engine is the other half of course.

Dave Shepard it right, but the 55 shop manual walks you through the adjusting sequence.  I've done it on mine it is very smooth at the moment.

I do have the shop manual and will review it.
As always, y'all are very helpful.  Many thanks.
