I just watched the Coen Brothers movie "A Serious Man" for the first time and saw two discrepancies and thought I would share. I had shared on the 63/64 Cadillac Chapter site and thought it was worth reposting here for you Cadillac Movie buffs.

Discrepancy #1:
Here you have to have a deep knowledge of the movie (or have cousins named Google or IMDB). The film was set in Minnesota in 1967. So, the plate on the first screen shot has the correct state but zoom in and it says 1965. Even with a 2 year plate, using tags, stickers, etc., I believe this 3 year spread would be incorrect. Very minor, but something I picked up on.

Discrepancy #2: (See interior screen shot below with arrows)
The outside of the car shows a 1964 Coupe de Ville. When the character is driving the car and showing the interior, it is a 1964 Fleetwood 60 Special!

Here are the giveaways:

RED ARROWS
- rear qtr window (could have been a 6 window Sedan de Ville or 6 Window Series 62 sedan) but other items ID it as a 60 Special.
- rear window door lock knob
- wood grain on door panel

YELLOW ARROW
- The seats on the 60 Special are taller than the Coupe de Villes, and Series 62 sedans and Sedan de Villes. It also has the vertical pleating inner fabric extending up and over the top as seen in this car.

I did some work on that film when they filmed it here.  I don't recall anything I saw related the cars. 2nd time I had worked with / met the Coen brothers.

My guess why they had different cars was some of it was shot in MN and other stuff was likely in CA and they didn't think it was worth transporting the same car so they just got the closest match they could at the other location.
