Am I the only one in the garage these days getting the "old girl" all spruced up for Las Vegas? Have not been to one before and looking forward to putting a face to the many names I've seen in the forums. Not often the gathering is near the left coast and relatively close to home.  Only 4 weeks to go!

I was planning on taking my Paris, but 1200 miles across nothing  to see but desert from San Antonio convinced me to take the big bird. Look forward to meeting you.

You are not alone!  I am busily tinkering with various odds and ends in preparation.  Not my first GN, but my first with a car since San Jose in '99. Looking forward to the first real road trip with this car.

The Eldo caps look good on the old 60. I hear you are going to have a Rock Star hanging out with you and Cruzin with you in that fine Caddy  8) Ken Perry

See you there, and I'll be looking at your car for sure.  It's the twin to mine.  I have Eldo caps for it too.

Looks great.

We've been in the garage for a little over a year sprucing outs up but unfortunately things aren't going our way. So we'll be flying in.

If you have never driven through the New Mexico and Arizona Sonoran desert, then your missing out on a beautiful drive.

I gave up on being able to get the 1942 ready for the GN and am also flying down.

Knowing my luck if I drove from eastern VA to Las Vegas, someone would drive over from Maine or something and beat me for the long distance award.  I'm flying too, just for Friday and Saturday.  It is not as exciting without a car.

We all should meet up at the hotel bar at 5pm on Friday and toast the hobby.  It would be good to put the name with the face.  I know Greg and few others, but not too many.  I will start a new topic about this.

Hoping to make it out there with my newly purchased 95 Fleetwood Brougham. Its sitting in the seller's warehouse outside Cleveland right now so no opportunity to tinker much with it before heading to Vegas.

57eldoking,

It should make it.  That exact same car in triple black was my daily driver from 1997 thru 2005 and I wracked up 254k trouble free miles.  Best car I ever owned.  Hope to see it there.

Never had one of these before but heard lots of good things so feeling excited about getting behind the wheel. It's got 78k miles so should have lots of life left in it. Previous owner of 17 years meticulously serviced it at a Cadillac dealership every 3 months. The front and rear side moldings have been painted black so hope to install a set of those new aluminum ones before the GN.

As part of my effort to bring the car to some level of correctness at least in the engine compartment ( my color scheme does not match the data tag) I purchased one of the Delco reproduction batteries and installed it last night. On all my caddy's over the years the positive cable was on the left side as you look at the battery and the negative ground on the right. To me that makes sense as the positive coming from the starter is routed along Thur right fender. My negatives have been grounded either to the block or radiator support. But I have noticed pictures of the positions being switched which does allow for the Delco logo on the battery to be seen. Why is it that way ? Seems neater to route it the way I have it. Is it because if you bump your wrench from the positive terminal on your nice shiny stainless trim it burns a hole in it? ( how do I know ?) just curious. And I'm sure that "backwards@ position is a point loser in judging.
