Thanks my friend Bruce.  I definitely agree and finally the wife is in love with one of the little fleet.  She could care less about the others except the 76 Eldo convertible and 89 Fleetwood.  I am so looking forward to spring.

Have you done anything with yours or just still working on the house?

Happy New Year!

Hello Dennis, looks nice so far. Why is the back seat so wrinkled? It looks like the upholstery is just hanging loose. Your car has a heater and a radio. Those were options. My observation is that maybe 50% to 60% of Cad/Las cars of the era had them. Your heater is the base level heater/defroster. There were two other more elaborate heating systems available.  Your car has the deluxe banjo steering wheel. That was an option too but for some reason almost all cars have them. Your car has the standard small hubcaps. There should be trim rings. Did they come with the car? There were optional full wheel covers available in 1939. The spotlight is a period accessory but may not be Cadillac.

Hi Tom,

That is some type of cover maybe the cover for the convertible top I am guessing because it has snaps on it.  It will be many months before I am able to take the top down.  I was complaining about no a/c and people back then were glad to just get some heat.  Nice to know it has some even though I don't envision ever using it, nice to have.  What you see is what I got, no trim rings.  The car was acquired in 1970 by my friends dad and driving to 1990, park and there she sat waiting and hoping one day I would bring her, wrinkles and all back to roam the streets where she belongs.

At some point I will be upgrading to 12 volt for a/c, neon lighting and all the benefits of that system, but that won't be till later.  Thanks for the info!

Happy New Year~
