1959 Cadillac third member/ pumpkin/ rear end gears

A friend is looking for a replacement 3rd member for his 1959 Cadillac Coupe DeVille (59 62 series, model 6337)...

One guy in Chicago wants $800.00, that is not a reasonable cost in my estimation. We are in Colorado.

John,

You probably know this but the ratios are not all the same.
The Eldorado with Tri Power had a higher numerical ratio which was the same for air conditioned cars.
I guess they have it a little more off the line performance.
For me the lower numerical ratio would be fine which will reduce revs on the highway slightly.

Have you tried any of the dry climate salvage yards?

I am getting lazy. The CDV with air takes a 3:21 to 1 stamped with a "W".

As to checking other sources again lazy as charged was hoping someone might have one lying around.
