Hi all,
I bought a 1948-75 a few years ago. The upholstry cloth is in still original condition and in such relatively good shape that it would be sin to renew it.
But there are several, not to say many, moth holes in it. In order to have these invisible mended, I ask those of you who have a seat with that trim # 81 in unuseable condition to cut or tear a section out of it that looks still useable. Color is faded, of course, but was some sort of beige when new.
I have seen such trim on scrap cars on ebay or here in the past, so I hope that there is someone out there with the right but mostly destroyed/unuseable seat covers out there to help. Of course I'll pay a fair amount for a decent piece/es.
Please, see pictures. Email at: hs1940@t-online.de
Thanks.
That material was used for many years. I found a 1941 60S with it (SO car) once. I call it the "reverse diamond" material. (One row one way, the next upside down.) Good luck.
Thank you, Barry, for the clarification and also for the good wishes.
Doesn't look very encourageing as yet, but I keep on hoping for a piece.
