Hello,

I have a 63 Cadillac with a maintenance free battery from Sears.   Lately Ive noticed the positive terminal post has turned darker in color than the negative post.   Also the cable end that connects to the positive post that is new,  about 2 weeks old,  has turned from a shiny silver metal color to a black color.  I tried to wipe the color off,  however it doesnt remove.

what would cause this change in color?   Is there an underlying problem or is this the nature of the beast?

Thank you,

Gary
