In the heavier cars such as the series 67 and 75  a five bladed fan was used.

I assume this was for extra cooling needed in the heavier cars.

I want to buy one, my restoration of my 1942  model 6719 is nearing completion and now is the time to do it right instead of overheating on hills.

  Thank YOu,

Check Summit Racing. I bought a 5 blade universal fan from them. Also Amazon.

Thanks Bill, I will do that because sometimes functionality supersedes authenticity.

Having been in the heating business for all of my life I know that number of blades is not the only criteria for a fan. Also to be considered is diameter, blade area (Size of blades) pitch of blades (angle) and revolutions per minute.

I hope someone has some figures on the design of the correct blades.

No experience with a 42 Cad, but the 6 blade looks just like the four blade on my 56, 58 and 59.

or get one of these with some kind of quick release when you want to show your car, or keep your hood shut like the rest of us!   :-X  :-X Guess you would have to go to 12volt.

It IS ugly, but so is walking if your car overheats.
