The book says generator has 2 oil cups. One on back is easy but can't find the other one.
Any help appreciated

Tom,

The other would be on the top front of the generator directly above the front bushing.  If your generator does not have this oil cup, the generator was likely changed at some point and has a sealed bearing instead of a bushing.

Thanks for the reply.
There is not one on the front so I guess it was changed. Do the lateroneshave a modern bearing in front but not in back ? That seem strange.

When these are rebuilt typically permanently lubed bearings are used. Maybe someone decided to replace only one bearing.

Or maybe both are replaced, no way to get rid of the oil cup or reason to, it looks " correct " with it still there.

I have done that on brass cars and others. If it takes oil it likely hasn't been replaced with a new bearing.

If it has been removed you should see a tiny hole on the front flange. It could have been snapped off.

My generator has something that looks like an air scoop attached to the top of it covering where I think the oil cup would be.
Anybody know anything about that?
