I am with Jerry.  My ultimate is a 60 Biarritz.  Persian, Black, Red, White, Silver in color.

I have driven a 1931 V-16, a 1941 Sedan, a 53 Eldorado, many 59's and 60's, 61, 62, 64, 69, 70, 76, 80, 81, and many newish Cadillacs.

The 60 is my favorite, then of course a 53 Eldo, then a 64 Eldo.

My Powerball Pick would have to be the lowest mileage original 60 Biarrits I could find.

Don't know if this qualifies as it would be a concept car by Cadillac; but the 1956 Landau one of a kind Town Car, mainly for it's rarity. Clay/Lexi

Hello ,
If you could pick just one car in 114 years of Cadillac production what would be the Holy Grail car ? You might say the 1931  V-16 roadster   , Maybe the 57 Eldorado Brougham  or the 1948  p-38 style . so many to choose from the 1953 Eldorado .  You can only pick one. Not the best interior or the best design or engine . Everything considered wrapped up into one model one year one car .   I think I would pick the 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz .

  Bill

As an "object" I'd agree on the various V16's of the 1930s, and would especially consider the Aerodynamic Coupe. Also the 1953 Eldorado is a stunner and a groundbreaking model. How about a 1941 Sixty Special?

As a Cadillac to use and drive, I'd choose the 1966 Fleetwood Brougham. See July Self-Starter on Ralph Messina's Brougham. I think it has gorgeous style, Cadillac elegance, and features that make it comfortable and relatively safe.  A 1968 Fleetwood has some added advantages in features and safety, but is not quite as pretty or elegant in my view. The vertical headlights on 1965-68 are a plus for me.

I'd have to go with every 1950's Cadillacs, as they are all beautiful cars, every year they looked great. Hands down the coolest of em all would have to be the 59's as they are the most recognizable Cadillacs ever built. I personally would hand over my left/right testicle for a 53-54 Cadillac Brougham  8) ;D, just love the styling of those 2 years.

I also love the 49 models, some of those 1930's Cads were also stunners, so it's very hard to say which generation of Cadillac's looked the best and had the most influential impacts on the industry as Cadillac's kept improving in so many ways throughout each decade.

Cadillac's up until 66 were the pinnacle of Cadillac's quality, styling, and craftsmanship. The last of the chrome metal interiors, tightly fitted interior panels, and cool flashy design.

My favorites are the 63-64's (beautiful cars inside and out), and the 69-70 models (ones of the most intimidating/menacing grills Cad ever designed). The 65's having my favorite dash and steering wheel combo however. 8)

You can also throw in the 66 Fleetwood Bro as probably one of the ultimate, most luxurious and pampered Cadillacs ever made, you can't any more luxurious than lighted pull down trays and footrest with legroom that seems miles long. Cadillac has't built a car since that is worthy enough to be on the same level as the 66 Fleetwood in terms of detailed qualities like rear pull down trays and footrest IMO.

All this is very subjective. Most opinions will be based on style to that persons eye. One has to consider they improved every year from a mechanical point of view but I can see that doesn't really matter to most choices. It would be a strange world indeed if we all loved the same girl :D
For myself if they all had to go bar one? I don't think I could bring myself to part with my 1937 convertible coupe.

A first generation Eldorado Brougham is definitely on my list.

My first choice '62 Fleetwood would be far more attractive with climate control and FM stereo radio.  It should also have level ride, Twilight sentinel, a split front seat with power recliners, individual rear reading lamps and the 1966 picnic tables...

So many features appeared in this time period that it would be nice to put them all in one car.

I never thought I'd miss the Guidematic in my '82 as much as I did when I got my '90 brougham.  Now mirrors dim themselves but lights don't.   Gone, too, was the rare memory seat option.  I even missed the fuel data panel.

I am lucky or cursed as I have the cars I desire.  57-60 Eldorado Brougham's.

One of each at the moment... the 57's are parts cars, but I can say I have one of each on the my ground at one time.

My wife says I only get to keep one girl . . .

:P

As far as Cadillacs, I'd go for an early 70s convertible, the earlier and less emissions emasculated the better.

Fortunately, I have that already :)

If I were to choose one that I don't have, I'd probably go for a transition.  I'd be inclined to the '24-'28--the V8 has been balanced, but the transmission is still unsynchronized.  Naturally, I'd still want an open model.

1972 Eldorado convertible,  1997 Eldorado ETC (now awaiting parts swap from '95 donor), 1993 Fleetwood but no 1926 (yet)

My dream car is the 1906 Model L, 4 cylinder, 40hp, only 3 made, cost 7 x what a single cylinder was in the day! Cadillac's first florey into real luxury.

The slightly smaller version the 1906 Model H was the first production Cadillac to have an enclosed body (coupe) & limousine offering, jump seats, and was the trend setter for Cadillac becoming the marque it is today.

Without Henry Lelands foresight into the need to go up market way back then, we (Cadillac guys) would not be doing what we do today  :)

It was these prestige cars that had Bill Durant convinced that he need Cadillac as the top of the line offering in the newly formed General Motors, by 1908 he had them, the rest as they say is history.

I love the "Roman nobility" look of the '63 & '64 Cadillacs, especially from the direct front.   No other Cadillac has this impression upon me.   Besides, this is the last year for real rubber gaskets for the windshield & rear window, along with superior carpeting, fairly-new V-8, and great workmanship.  Thus, my pick would be:

a  '64 Fleetwood 60 Special  in sandalwood beige

[a beige '63 would be more than acceptable!]

Terry,
The last time I heard of that car was it was about 5 cars down in a pile at a  junk yard in Green Bay. The area was being redeveloped!! The person telling me about it sort of vague. I figured if it was really there a car guy like Wally Rank would have known about it. I didn't pursue it.
