1960 won't idle on cold starts.Runs ok when engine warms up but I have to stay on gas to warm up engine.
Is it time for e rebuild?

Does the choke work?    What often kills the chokes on stuff this age is the choke heater tube/stove rots out in the intake and lets exhaust into the choke which then damages and plugs it up.

There's a procedure to follow to set the choke first.   Fast idle is on a cam and if you don't engage, it won't.   You do not want to flutter the gas starting up.
Refer to owners or shop manual or AFB service bulletin.
