Does anyone have a 71-72 Coupe or Eldorado who could measure the inner door pull straps on both sides please. The length from the middle of each pull strap cover would be great since they're different lengths for each side due to the wiper controls. I do know these are different lengths than sedans and Fleetwoods. I have a few and not sure if they're correct. thanks. Jeff

G'day Jeff,

Hopefully this is almost what you asked for, and some pictures of the early '71 end covers.   Yours with the clips are the later '71 covers.

The ones on my car (1972) are the early '71, as I am trying to find a set of good '72 ones.

The change from the stick-on early ones to the later clip-ons, was described in the Cadillac Serviceman, Issue April 1971, page 22, describing the procedure to screw the stick-on ones

Hi Bruce,
thank you for all this! If I'm understanding this correctly. The LH (driver's side) total length is ~28.25"
The RH (passenger side) is ~31". I'm now wondering how the Fleetwood and sedan measure up!
Thanks again, this confirms I do have a RH coupe strap, being sold. Didn't want to send a LH since I'm not out! Jeff

Yes, 28 1/4" and 30 7/8"

Remember this is for the Eldorado, so the 4 door Sedan is going to be a lot shorter.

I have had to do repairs on mine as they do break.   Especially at the thin area beside the holes.

Yes, I realize these are for all 2 doors and 4 doors will be different. Thank you. Ok, now on to see the different between lengths for a 4 door and a Fleetwood! Jeff
