F/S 1939 Cadillac V-16

1939 Cadillac V-16, model 9033 which is the seven passenger limousine with divider window and jump seats.  I have had this car since 1979 and the restoration was completed in 1985.  Since that time I have driven the car in excess of 20,000 miles.  The car is a senior car in both the CCCA and CLC.  Most of the history of the car is known.  It was sold in Wilkes-Barrie, PA.  The ownership has been traced to what is presumed to be the second owner in Wilkes-Barrie.  The initials of the original owner are known but not the name.  After Wilkes-Barrie the car went to MT from the early 50’s until 1978 and then to Washington State and my ownership.

The condition of the car is still very close to the condition in 1985 when the restoration was completed.  There is some patina on paint and chrome from the 25 years of time and 20,000 miles of driving but it still is in very presentable condition.  The car is one of the few V-16’s driven on several CCCA Caravans.  It was recently invited to be shown at the 2008 Kirkland Concours d’Elegance in the “Sixteen Candles” class. 

Approximately 500 late model V-16’s were manufactured in 1938, 1939 and 1940.  A little more than 200 have been identified as still existing but not necessarily restored.
