I bought a replacement window motor from USA PArts for my 56 Series 75 LR door.  The hardware did not come with it, and it was one size smaller than the original motor hardware.  The only thing that fit was a Phillips head screw with a 1/2 inch shank.  Has anyone gone down this road before?  I had the original motor reconditioned once and it gave up the ghost on me.  I am worried that the torque will either break the screws on the new motor or they just won't hold.  They don't seem to tighten up properly.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Mark, Welcome to the wonderful? world of inaccurate reproductions. I'd suggest drilling & retapping the holes to the correct size.

Too much fun is more than you can have.

The motors on the 1956 are round, later around 1959 they are flat rectangle -- but they still fit. So you might consider using a later motor. Unless the 75 was different from the 62 series?

I can send a picture of the 56 and the newer one if you need one.

Thank you for the replies.  Turns out USA PArts sent me a motor with Metric threaded holes.  I called and they just sent a new one.  Now to get that regulator back in there!!!!  The hard part is how does the regulator connect on the hinge side of the door?  I think it just stands up like an "I" and it bolts top and bottom, and then the slide and rollers bolt on the handle side of the door.  Do I have that right?

 >:( Yup.  The new window motor from USA Parts Supply only goes one way, and only for a second and then stops.  It is clearly not electrically compatible for this car.  I put the old window motor back on and it goes down fast, but I watched the motor's plastic gear spinning when it tried going up.  I am resolved to repair the old motor and put it back on.  If I had a 1978 Cadillac, this window motor would purr right along.

I did figure out how to get the regulator back on the window slide, so it was a good "exercise."  :'(
