This is on my 38 Cadillac.  The other door handles are original, this one isn't and I can't get it to come off.  For the others I used an awl with a 90 deg angle to depress the spring, but this one is different.  It doesn't have the access slot to get to the spring.  I can't figure out how it comes off.  Any ideas?

Tom does it have the "C" clip just under the handle like the smaller series and most other GM makes? you can hook these out with the same tool your using sometimes or you can get a special tool for it.

Get an old tee shirt -cut a strip off-go under/around the handle while making a u pulling back and forth. It has to be attached like the others with a standard spring clip ?

Hello Tom...The "Special Tool" that Steve mentions is usually available at most auto supply stores for about five bucks and is designed as a universal tool for all brands of door and window cranks. Tell the old timer behind the counter what you are up to and you should be able to get the tool for the job. bb
