Amazed at what I have been reading so far. Awesome forum! I am the proud new owner of a 1976 Bicentennial Edition #198. It is in great condition with 35K miles, but has the normal quirks I will be addressing. Wanted to say hello to all, and look forward to the knowledge and experience of the group.

Welcome John--- truly a Beautiful machine --- love it.   Yes, MaR's postings are revelatory... every inch of his "near death" Eldorado lovingly disassembled and restored.   He's one of the "gems" that make my day.   Yes, many CLC folks may not be master mechanics by trade, but they masterfully maintain these aging machines, share generously in their knowledge, and provide options for mechanical issues that can be  frustrating .   Don't hestitate to tackle a mechanical problem on this forum FIRST--- plently of great advice abounds.   James
