Title: First drive of the year 1966 Calais
Post by: Vette4114 on March 23, 2024, 03:49:39 PM
Beautiful sunny day for the first drive of the season in my 1966 Calais to Kentucky from southern Indiana. All original mechanically with all original interior. Just had it repainted last year. 112000 miles. Got 12 mpg driving down.

I know I have a Chevy advertisement plate on the front. It is original from the early 1970s and needed to put something there until I find something else.

Nice, my Mothers first Cadillac in 1968 was a 1966 Calais 4 door hardtop in silver with black cloth.

Those were great cars.  When tuned within Cadillac's specs, they provided extraordinary comfort, convenience and isolation from the road.  COngratulatons on a great choice,  James

Happily, CLC Member Joe Puleo is now reproducing front license filler plates. These are faithful reproductions of the originals that would have been installed on Cadillacs from the 1950s to the late 1970s.

They are available for $75.00 which is the same price I was paying when McVey last offered them ten years ago.
