Does anyone have a source for new drums for a 63 convertible, thanks

TJ Hopland

What model?   Every one I looked at looks like they are available.   Deville looks like its the most common one used on a ton of Cads as well as some other GM's into the 90's.  Some others like a series 75 only lists the front.  Some other models don't have much for choices but at least someone makes em.
73 Eldo convert w/FiTech EFI, over 30 years of ownership and counting
Somewhat recently deceased daily drivers, 80 Eldo Diesel & 90 CDV
And other assorted stuff I keep buying for some reason

Mr. Renda,

FWIW most comments on after-market drums here and on other forums have been very negative.  A general consensus seems to be that sourcing original drums which can still be re-surfaced is the best solution.  See, for example:

https://6364cadillac.ning.com/forum/topics/64-caddie-brake-drums?pa...

"MPB lists these as fitting all 1960 to 1974 Cadillacs except the Commercial Chassis body styles and 1967 and later Eldorado."

"(S)pecs for the drums are in the Shop Manual. For the drums I deal with, the spec 12.060 inch diameter". Jason Edge

I don't know if Mr. Edge still has any in inventory.  If not, you may wish to check about his waiting list.

Mr. Russ Austin may also have good used OEM drums.

Somewhere I may still have a link to a small North American company which was casting and making quality replacement drums.  I'll see if I can find it.

You could always pull your drums and check to see if they are candidates for re-surfacing.

Bill and all, I have a LOT of good used drums for the 1960 to 1965 (and many later body styles) but am down to one set that has been turned. My price is $65 each unturned or $95 each turned. So two turned drums would be $180. Bill a chapter member you get the 25% discount which drops the price down to $135 + s/h. If interested email me at jasonedge64@outlook.com.

Keep in mind these are the drums only. On the front the drums are pressed onto the hub via the studs. I also sell the front hub and drums turned as an assembly. Those are $105 each unturned or $135 each turned.

The problem with the newer aftermarket drums is the outside balance weights are not recessed like the factory drums, so the wheel (steel rim) will not mount up flush to the drum. I have a set of new made in China AutoZone drums that were in one of my parts cars that I have had for a decade that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.
