There were 1001 series 70 made in 1937. I looked in three books and could not find a breakdown by bodystyle. My suggestion would be to contact the club members who wrote the authenticity manual for 1937 Cadillac.

Good suggestion, Tom. But...I don't think there's ever been a breakdown. Marco, what is your body #? My guesstimate is less than 100.

The body ID tag is on the fire wall under the hood....that tag will have your style or model # also paint and trim codes....

Also on that tag is the body #....that tells us how many of your convertible coupes in that style were built up to that point in production....

Like Bob said, that # is probably less than 100....

There exists very specific breakdowns in production numbers for Lasalles because club member Matt Larson looked at every build sheet for every Lasalle ever made and manually tabulated them. (info in the Lasalle book sold by the club). This may not have been done for Cadillac.

According to engine/VIN number information numbers started at 3130001 and ended at 3134232 for 1937 70 & 75 Series (they were combined)). Based on that there were 4231 units but there is no breakdown as to body style or how many 70 series vs 75 series.
Back a number of years ago when I had a '37 75 Series conv sed I spoke to Matt Larson (may he  RIP) about breakdown numbers and he told me there was missing information during the thirties due to loss or being misplaced. It was interesting to learn about his access to the the records at Cadillac. They gave him unlimited access which lasted for many months. He described it as like going to work everyday.     Harry

Hi,
You know they made at least 66 cars. I'll stick by my guesstimate of less than 100 cars. It appears your car had special quality black leather & black paint. I'm not sure about the top. Do you nave the correct rear curtain frame & glass? Picture?
