I have a "thing" with the Cadillac/LaSalle logos on the left side. The words "Cadillac LaSalle, STANDARD OF THE WORLD" appear in a slight arc across the items top/center. It appears to be made of pot metal and has 2 slots (1-1/2" wide) along the bottom as if it had some kind of connection to mounting with a license plate. The whole piece measures about 11" long X 4" high X 1/4" thick. (wish I could include a photo)
Thanks.

You have a Cadillac-LaSalle Club License Plate Topper. It fits on the top of rear or front license plate holders on cars typically from the 1920s through 1940s with the license plate mounted above rear tailight.
