Quote from: tcom2027 on Yesterday at 05:47:48 PMThank you  Mike. I believe you are correct about the Silver French grey. The lower body color could be Harbor grey, or submarine grey. I've looked at paint chips and couldn't find a close match up to '48.

I'm not going to show the car. Of several LaSalles I was looking to buy the colors on this one sold me, regardless of the authenticity of the colors.

What year was marblehead gray available?

tony

Tony click on my link to the Paintref website....It shows Marblehead was a 1939 Cadillac color...

https://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedisplay.cgi?model=Cadillac&year=1939&con=yo&page=1&rows=50&size=large

I wonder how these paint chip charts will show up on the new Blackout screens?

I mentioned the same thing to someone, our first Cadillac, a 59 SDV had the lightning-bolt door knobs for its power locks.

"Your points are well made I was arrogant in my estimation of the situation. You are correct my car is not that good it has defects that are apparent to the casual observer. I stand reproved."

Then you have liquid natural gas!

Quote from: Barry M Wheeler #2189 on February 12, 2025, 10:58:38 PMYou guys fussing takes me back. Way back, I mean wayyyyy back, it was proposed that we let all Cadillacs up to, I think thirty years old in the Club. We started arguing inside the building where we had the Board Meeting. I think we had to clear the room for someone else, and were in the lobby, then shoved outdoors under a tree. Doug Houston was of the opinion that we were all crazy, and the Club would soon wither and die. And that 1942 was a "logical" place to cut off membership.

First this point and then another was brought up. We may have had more than one vote. And we were all tired. Back in those days, Board meetings took the whole day. Finally, another vote was called and we passed the change. No one was maimed in the discussion, and I do congratulate all of you for being so restrained in your arguments and the relevant points you brought up on this matter.

It might make some of you feel better to know that it took two tries for me to see the change. It does go with the rest of the symbols and does reflect "Cadillac Style." We have really progressed since 1964 when I first joined. And we have survived many other changes, and hopefully will survive many more well after I am gone to my reward. My regards to all of you.

So well said, Barry. I have attended board meetings since 2002 and remember those marathon sessions. We must accept all Cadillacs and LaSalles or we go out of business.

Quote from: 59-in-pieces on February 12, 2025, 11:02:09 AMWho specifically suggested that the design should be changed, upon which the Board agreed.

Come on, don't be shy, or circle the wagons.

Have fun,
Steve B.

No one person suggested it, really. It was bounced around by the Executive Committee, the Long Range Planning Committee, and the Publications Committee. I was asked to create a design, and well over 40 board members and officers approved without any dissent.

Quote from: Lexi on February 12, 2025, 11:05:55 AMLike Cadillac Jack82, I am not much of an EV fan, or usually fond of image brand changes, but that is a very cool design as Tim noted. I think it was necessary to reflect the EV power plants and that is the best representation of such that I can think of. Not cluttered, makes a subtle statement and it pays homage to the evolution of Cadillac. Well done. Clay/Lexi

P.S. Will they come out with a new CLC Grille Badge?

Thank you for your kind words. I added the symbol for EVs and moved the other powerplant designations around to balance all of them.

New grille badges will be ordered once the CLC Store sells its inventory of old badges.
