Title: Need part # for Cadillac/LaSalle starter
Post by: GregK on March 06, 2024, 09:39:19 AM
Good day all,

I have inherited a starter from a 1928 Cadillac that needs rebuilding. Unfortunately the original Delco Remy tag has been damaged to the point that I can no longer read the #. Does anyone know what the original part # for this starter would have been? I need it so I can dig through my old Delco books and look up parts to save it.

Thanks in advance to everyone that took the time to read and respond.

  Starter numbers

   Cadillac 341 (1928-1929) Part book 000382
                            Hollander  382
  LaSalle  303 (Early 1927) PART book 819865
                            Hollander 725B
  LaSalle 303,328 (Late1927-1929) part book 822311
                            Hollander 725C

The armature number is often stamped on it. The  Cadillac was only used by Cadillac. The Lasalle was used by other GM and Non- GM makes.

Armature number

  Cadillac 341   #19014 replaced by #37846

  LaSalle 303 early   820347
          #303late,328    822187

Thanks so much. That was exactly what I needed. Now I can dig through my old Delco parts books to find the part #'s I need.
