This can be of interest for those that access the forums from a mobile device as dark screens use less battery power. But we need to know whether enough people want this before investing the time to install an extra mode.

Been searching the internet to see if these exist.  I'm coming up dry.  I've got a couple of shop manuals, but am wondering if there's a body book for 1961.  I can find them for other years and other makes, but no 1961 Cadillac. A digital copy would be fine.  Thanks.

Do you mean the assembly manual. Or something else.

G'day Steve,

I think that you will find that the Fisher Body Manuals didn't begin to become a separate Service Manual till around 1969.

Before then, the Shop Manual covered everything that the mechanic needed to know when repairing/servicing these cars.

My own supply of Manuals for GM up till 1968 show everything in the one book.

PS.   But then, I could be totally wrong.

The earliest Fisher Body Service Manual like what I believe you are looking for is for a 1966.
I have a couple of sets that cover from 1966 to 1975. I don't know if they printed any other years that were as comprehensive as these were. I have some reprints that cover 1937/38, and another one for 1940 I think. I forgot to check what years these were for. But they are not very thick, I don't believe they cover nearly as much as the 66-75 books do.
You might want to check out Faxon Auto Literature.
https://www.faxonautoliterature.com .  I've gotten several books from them and was very happy with the quality.

The simple answer is Fisher Body was included in the Cadillac shop manual from 1956 thru 1964.

Before any more wrong information on Fisher books , a brief History of what I have found.

The first book Fisher made for Cadillac-LaSalle was 1927.They also made them for the other divisions of GM.

Starting on May1,1928 they Published "Fisher Body Service Bulletins" a total of 36 thru 1930. These were
compiled into a book that covered 1926-1931. An updated version was 1926-32. The originals have a very neat binder.

Nothing was published in 1933. A 1934 book was published to cover both 33 and 34. Then a 35-36 version ,
that is often listed as 33-36 in the reprint  market.

For 1937-1947 Fisher published GM wide manuals for Sheet metal and Construction  and Service.
(1937-38,1939-40,1941-42 reprinted 46, and 46-47 Reprints add 1948) Much of what is in them is reprints
of bulletins they were printing at the same time.

Starting in 1938 Fisher again published a news letter "Fisher Body Service News" Vol 1-5 (1938-1942),
Vol 6-8 (1945-1947),and Vol 9-15  (1950-1956)  NOTE:Canadian Copies 1951-1955 are not the same as US copies.

In 1948  a C-body book was made to cover the new body Cad-Olds.

As noted above the Fisher Body Service News returned in 1950 thru 1956. A duel numbering system was used.
Volume and number for Fisher. And Make number for each of the GM divisions. Dealers got only the ones they sold.
The Accessory things like heaters were in the main Shop manual. Other body was in these letters.

IN 1956 ALL Body was added to the shop manual, Thru 1964.

In 1965 Body manuals were printed for each Division of GM

In 1966 Fisher started publishing One manual each year for most  bodies ,thru 1981.

Exceptions for Cadillac

!971 Special Top Booklet
1974-75 Air Restraint System (AIR BAGS)
1979 E-Body

From 1982-1988 except 1985 when the C-body got its own book. There were two books based on body group.

Thanks Warren,

Now I understand why my Shop Manuals for Chevrolet are from Canada, as these were supplied to Australia,
whereas my Cadillac ones ('59 with the '60 Supplement) were reprints from USA.

I have the Air Bag one for 1974.
