Hi all ,

I am a bit confusded about reading all the stuff about ZDDF i think ?

I now from a specialist Ferrari technicus ( jac cars Belgium ) that supplements in oil are good but the have to be the exact ones for the exact oil . ( verry dificult )
"The make or kill ( more ) the oil " thats what he learnt at the ferrari firm in Italy over all these years ( hé is 65 )
So ? what supplement is de good one for each oil ?  Was my next question ? The answer is " according to his books "None" . Dont risck mistakes !!    :'(
This Ferrari man is always working on the old cars en has one golden rule  - use the oil from the car manuel and ad every 400 miles a 0.5 litre of 2stroke oil in the fueltank. Use a engine claener  before changing the oil every 2000 miles and clean the oilcarter every time .
I do this for 25 years now with all my classics and i never had anny engineproblems . And I drive only classic cars ( i don't have a normal car ) 20 000 miles a year . I had a 1954 Chrysler windsor and made 68000 miles with it before selling it to a man that still drives it . The engine has now 219000 miles without revision .

For me ! This is the good advice because i have the proof . ( no problems for all that thime )    ;D

Picture = mi TVR at jac cars

The next question is , what kind of ( original ) oil do i put every 2000 miles in my 41 Caddi ? ( without supplement !! )    ???

Please ? i like a lot of reactions because i have nothing else to do for the moment ( broken foot )

Thanks .

Anton

i once owned a 1970 delta 88 with a 455 v8 i put in a can of STP at every oil change and when i sold it with 206000 miles on it it still did not burn oil the only major repair was to replace the original nylon tooth timing set. i only used sae30 valvoline in the summer and 10w40 valvoline in the winter so i dont beleive all those cans of stp hurt it at all.
