Title: Going to pickup a 97
Post by: Chuck Swanson on November 30, 2017, 06:29:17 PM
Like I needed another :)  Bought a '97 DeVille today.  The old story abought a grandmother who bought new but rarely drove the car ;)  Bought from the ladies great granddaughter.  They still had the window sticker, which was neat.   Only 55K, no rust, interior mint, just had some scratches on the trunk.  Usually I avoid these due to Northstar, but couldn't pass it up :)

Any recommendations for new tires?  Tread good, but tires old. Chuck

In my experience, nothing performs as well as with OEM spec Michelin skins on these Cadillacs. Cost a bit more, but well worth it and wear very well.

Color looks like Calypso Green.

Best of luck with it.

Thanks!  When I picked up, realized it's the d'Elegance version too, a bonus :)  Drove home OK, around 25 miles away...let my son drive it for a while and now he wants it.  Chuck

Michelins on there now...I will check new ones out! Thx.  Color is Emerald Green with Neutral Shale Leather (bench front) and Zebrano Wood trim.  Gold Ornamentation package.  Car not driven in winter and you can tell....no rust.  One family owned car until I bought....Great Grandaughter (in her early 20s) got the car in July '17, but not a car for her.

Also, anyone know dealer outlet code 24342?  Card says Cooperstown NY, but odd that on window sticker, says delivered to dealer in San Bernadino CA.

Also, any links to what is included in d'Elegance?

Some of the standard D'Elegance items included rear vanity mirrors, two-tone silver & gold bodyside/bumper molding inserts (all silver on base DeVille), chrome wheels, genuine wood trim on dash & door panels, upgraded sound system, front lumbar seats and possibly a few other items - it's been some time since I owned a D'Elegance in this generation.

**Oh and it will have "D'Elegance" nameplate on rear quarters!  ::)
