1940 60S rocker trim

My 60 special has no trim on the rocker panel under the doors.  (1940)  I've seen pics of other cars that had a wide trim strip on the rocker panel.  Has my car been short changed, or were there different options for 1940?

Your car had three stainless strips on each side. They are each 3/8 to 1/2 inch wide and ran the full length of the rocker panel. All the '38, '39 and '40  60S cars had these strips.

Unless it originally had running boards,  If it is just the molding missing you will have holes for the clips to hold them.
If it was a running board car with the boards missing then you will need the rocker extension to mount the molding or find a set of running boards and hardware

Running boards were not an option on the 60 Special. The 39 & 40 LaSalle & 39 Cadillac 61 strips are too short. Good luck.
