This is the only flaw out 4 doors on my 88 Fleetwood (FWD). What's the best way to repair this or at least prevent it from splitting any further. Thanks.

There is a national chain of vinyl/plastic/leather repair specialists called Fibrenew (fibrenew.com). They have affiliated dealers/contractors in every state. Best of all, they come to you. I have no affiliation with the company, but I have contracted for their services.....twice! Even as picky as I am, I highly recommend them. I had some scratches in my black 1970 CDV door panels touched up. They now look as new. On my 1976 CDV, had a leather seat tear repaired, along with having a few plastic interior pieces dyed back to a hard to match original color. Everything now again looks "Hollywood"!

They may not be able to repair a split as large as yours, but hey, you'll never know unless you call.

Those cars are notorious for that. To my knowledge people make caps that you paint and put over them but they don't have the stitching on them and look a little chunky when you put them on. Check ebay if you're interested in going that route. On the other hand every 4 door 85-93 used the same armrest so the pool to choose from to find a good original is pretty large. SEM makes excellent vinyl paint.
