Hi all:

I am looking for the turn signal switch for my 1940 series 62 coupe.... the one that is a very short chrome lever sort of fixed at the end of an extension of the steering column.... probably not a clear explanation but I am sure that if you know a 1940 Cadillac, you know what I am talking about.

In case somebody has the switch all together with the chrome lever, please let me know:

Recently, (a few months ago), there was discussion on the Forum about 1940 turn signal levers. The discussion ended, I believe, with the thinking that this once plentiful item's supply has dried up. I would suggest that you join the CLC mainly to obtain one of our Club Directories. The reasoning behind this is that in the book, each member that owns a 1940 Cadillac or LaSalle is listed. Many of these members do not use this Forum, so that they will not know/see of your need. Many also do not use the Web.

Therefore, what I always suggest is that you fill your cup with coffee and start dialing your phone. Most of our members will accept cold calls to talk about their cars. Usually during the conversation, either that person will ask if you have a "so and so part", or you can also ask about needing your turn signal lever.

Please note the time zone you are calling to, and try not to call at meal time or bedtime. Best of luck in your quest. BW.

Thank you Barry. I appreciate the suggestion.

But if somebody has one that could sell, I am still open to purchasing it.

Thanks!

Do you believe that's the correct one for 1940 John? as there's another similar listed. They may all fit somehow I guess but these sellers just list a wide spectrum of cars they may fit.   I haven't got my 1940 anymore to confirm it.

This is not the normal 1940 switch.
