Any years Gas Tank Spitting Back

Thanks for all the insight everyone. I was figuring that something had to change with the pump calibration, at least in my area.

For me I have no problem fueling slower, and always have an idea of more or less how much gas I'll need. Problem comes in when driving thru a neighboring state where you can't pump your own gas and you're at the mercy of a petroleum professional to not spill all over your car. Hoping that opening the vent slits will do the trick at different stations.

Oregon and New Jersey had attendant pump laws for many years, Oregon recently repealed that law leaving only New Jersey to require that attendants must pump your gas for you.  Last time I bought fuel in NJ was in my '73 Caribou, the attendant was unfamiliar and didn't want to "mess something up" so he allowed me (at my request) to pump my own gas.  He made it a point to stay close by because, my understanding is, the station could have been subject to a heavy fine for letting me do the refueling.
