Does anyone know where to find torque specs for 1937 LaSalles?  Especially looking for brake, suspension, and steering torque values.  Surprisingly, there are no torque specs in the 1937 shop manual that I can find.  I tried the various documents for 1937 Cadillacs and LaSalles on the GM Heritage Center website with no luck.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!
Jeff

At that time, the mechanics had a torque wrench incorporated into their arms!
I suppose torque wrenches were not very common at that time; they came later, maybe after WWII.

From the Cadillac-LaSalle Serviceman Sept 1,1938.

Headline:  Torque Wenches Aid Precision Assembly in Service

The whole front page tells that Cadillac has been checking them out for the last year and now has one to add to the special tools list. They claim that they have only been available for a little over a year. But, it was about 1935-6 they hit the market.(National Service Data) The article goes on to tell that Cadillac has been using them in production for years it is now time for service.

Here is the list of spec's from page 32 (no years given, but 1939 models were subject of the next issue)
