H Desser clc #19416

Posted pictures of our restoration in December of 2004, feedback as to "good job" etc but we are wondering if anyone has comments on what we have done so far (wrong this or that, I would use?)?  We think we have broad shoulders and can handle the critcism but who knows? We are trying to do a near perfect car as to authencity and since no 48-49 manual is available we need/want feed-back.  See it if you missed it before @www.desserconsulting.com

Thanks

Herman and Brad

Hard to find fault with anything you have done. I have been using you pictures as a guide for installing my wiring harness. Thanks for that. One of the mysteries of the 48 engine compartment is the arrangement of the spark plug wires. I would like to know what the original holder that attaches to the exhaust manifold looks like. All of the ones I have seen have the metal arm, but wire seperaters.

The spark plug wires from the distributor, by the way the ones in our pix are temporary as no boots in 1948, to the metal bracket had a hard cardboard type material riveted to the bracket in the shape of a yoke with 4 cutouts for wires then over the heads to a round piece with 4 cutouts to an oblong piece with 3 cutouts, to an oblong piece with 2 cutouts all made out of the same material a treated cardboard material.  Let us know if you are able to find these as to date we have had no luck?
McVeys lists some  pieces for the wires for earlier cars but have no looked into it
