The Authenticity Manual for Class 25 could use two or three people who have very good to excellent condition 1972-4 rear wheel drive cars. These would be cars that have had minimal restoration. You role will be to proofread for factual accuracy using your own car and any literature you may have to help keep us "honest". If you have a yearning to write a portion of the manual, that can probably be arranged, too. You will receive credit in the manual and a lifetime supply of Adler elevator shoes.
Tom: Is there any manual underway for Class 24 (Eldo front wheel drive)?
Just asking since I am the original owner of one that's unrestored and I'd
be glad to help.
Mike
TOM: How about 1976 cadillac coupe de villes, rear wheel drive? This year is almost the exact same as 1975.
Mike, I don't know the status of the Class 24 (1971-8 Eldo) manual. You could find out from the new Director of Technical Services, Bill Anderson (see the January Self-Starter). I expect it would be closely coordinated with the Class 25 manual to prevent wasteful duplication of effort on things like tables of options. I believe Mr. Anderson has an article coming up in the March 2008 Self-Starter which may contain a progress report.
EAM, I think we have enough help from 1975-6 owners for the time being. Thanks for asking, though. It's the 1972-4 car owners whose editing and/or writing contributions are particularly needed at this point. We could probably benefit from the thoughts of another 1971 owner as well. No Eldos or Sevilles in this manual.
Tom,
I am the owner of a 1972 Fleetwood 75 Sedan. To my knowledge, the car has 57,000 original miles and has had no restoration work done other than the following: I replaced the rear bumper center section with an NOS part (the original was dented as seen in photo) and I replaced one motor mount. The car was painted when new to match the funeral home fleet where it was in service. It was originally Mayfair Gray (18).

I would be glad to provide any assistance needed for the production of the Class 25 Authenticity Manual.

I have an all original unrestored 72 Coupe DeVille with 49,000 miles. Contact me at siplowguy@aol.com or 917-566-2621.

I recently sold a 1974 Sedan de Ville with 9,000 original miles and would be glad to help in any way I can. I also have a 60,000 1976 Fleetwood 75 and a 1976 Brougham and 1975 Sedan de Ville.
I have a 73 CDV with 86,000 original miles. Some paint work but original color, code 11 cotillion white with a new NOS white vinyl top (correct grain and stitching) and scarlet red leather. Have the build sheet, bill of sale from dealer and manufacturers statement of origin showing transfer from cadillac motor car division to the dealer, center city cadillac in phila. PA. Also have a few brochures from 73 one specifically devoted to dealer installed options.
I currently own a 1971 Cadillac Sedan Deville, very well optioned. The car is for sale and posted on our region's website CRCLC.org. I doubt at present if it will sell any time soon, so I would be glad to be of any assistance I could be with the manual - Greg
Thank you all very much for your offers of help. I will be in touch by e-mail.
