Title: Wanted - Original wheels for 1939 LaSalle
Post by: Fred Zwicker #23106 on April 01, 2008, 08:16:46 AM
I am looking for 3 or 4 original wheels for a 1939 LaSalle.  My present wheels are perfect and restored, but are for my radial ply tires. I am in hopes that I can locate another set so that I can mount bias ply tires for show purposes.  If available, please send me an email with dimensions and price.  Thanks,

Fred Zwicker

:)  Thanks for the reply.  I do not know about the '41 wheels.  The 1939 LaSalle wheels measure about 17-1/2" outside diameter to handle the 16" tires and they are from 5-3/4" to 5/11/16" wide. (5-bolt pattern and clips for the hubcaps).  For reference, I am attaching a picture showing a part of my original Firestone "gum dipped" spare tire and wheel.

In the meantime, I have located  extra wheels, thanks to a very generous friend and CLC member, so am no longer in need of these.

I am looking for the same 16'' wheel for a 40-5019 I'm restoring. I have 3 in decent shape but 1 has heavy damage. Would love to get my hands on a replacement. Needed wheel matches Freds description. I also have 5 wheels that fit same car but are 15'' and wider. Not sure what they originally came off of but if anyone needs, let me know.
