Title: FOR SALE: 1961 Cadillac Fleetwood 60 Special
Post by: Page Patterson #12382 on May 19, 2008, 08:48:42 PM
One owner California black plate car, Fontana Rose with incredible original cloth/leather interior! This car has been garaged and babied since new. One repaint, 93,000 miles.
Sold new at Casa De Cadillac in Sherman Oaks, California and has been in Los Angeles since new.

In February the car was fully serviced in the amount of  $6,000.00.

Runs and drives out beautiful, just made a 600 mile trip in comfort and car runs smooth and cool.

There are very few in this nice original (other than one repaint) condition! The interior is amazing and you could not duplicate this car for less money!

Email me for detailed pictures.

Uh Oh, a negative reply about services, something that is being discussed on another thread.

No, Johnny, there is no negative comment about any particular vendor here.  The vendor(s) who
did the $6k worth of work on this car is/are not mentioned by name, and there is no complaint
about that vendor or vendors.  There is merely Mr. Morris's statement that he would have done
the same work for less money.

Yes that is very true, and granted I was "painting with a broad brush" about "negative posts"  I just don't think the OP wanted to hear from someone that the work could bave been much cheaper.

I agree. and thats even making a small profit on labor. You could buy a whole 2nd car in nice driving condition for that cost too.

Also, not making judgment on anybody or anything, just making an observation. I thinks it's because a lot of us do our own repairs where possable so just sounds high. Just so long as you liked the quality of service and you got what you wanted. It is hard to find experienced shops who will treat our old Cadilacs with the respect they deserve. But let's face it, for a regular shop, it is a set back as waiting for parts means taking up space and time, so thats where you pay.
