I got a cable on the loose, and can't find where it supose to go.
Can anyone look at the picture and maby come up with an answer.
It's an 1972 Deville, 472 engine.
That connects to the temperature control switch located in the cylinder head immediately behind and below the rear of the left valve cover.
Thats a quick answer with a picture! Gotta love the net
That is the stop now engine temp light (or some similar wording ) which is in addition to the normal coolant temp warning light.
Other than falling off a reason it could be off is that its the wrong sensor. There is an identical looking sensor on the other head (behind the alternator) that is used to tell the heater fan to turn on. The heater one is something like 120* F. The engine temp one is more like 270* F. So if they got the wrong one (or rebuilt the heads and got them on the wrong sides) the light would come on all the time and the heater would never come on. Both are in blind holes so you dont have to worry about any coolant or oil leaking out if and when you change them.
Many thanks for the answer!
