Title: 1969 caddy deville hardtop sedan history
Post by: 1969cadillac on September 16, 2011, 09:02:53 AM
hello out there - i own this car - i am in Canberra ,Australia - down under!

i am trying to find the history of this car - it came to Australia in 99

this is a very distinctive car - and i am sure someone in the US would remember it!

empire maroon , black top with black ostrich leather interior

a/c , cruise , 40 /60 seat all electric, soft ray glass, am radio

car has only covered 48,000 miles - and i am NOT kidding

very original - has been painted only

excellent condition - but not mint - but would be hard to beat condition wise

was originally sold by Central Cadillac in Newark NY

then by a Caddy dealer called ' Taylor "

VIN B183780

order no. 80651

made 01 .31. 1969

thankyou, Murray Mules

Did  you try calling Barnard Chevrolet Oldsmobile Cadillac Inc
Newark, NY 14513

(315) 331-1010

Also, do you have a picture?  I am about 70 miles from Newark, a very small town.  Just for the heck of it I can send to my fraternity brother who grew up in Newark NY.

Any name of orig owner?

hello - thanks for replying - please give me your email address and i will email several pics of the car and the back of the owners manual - which has the salesmans name - not the owners name!

Noticed in the pics you sent, car from Newark *NJ*, not *NY* as you posted.  ;) My guess is it will be more difficult as Newark NJ is a very large city.  Sorry and good luck.

You have a good looking car but not necessarily one that would be remembered here after 40 years.

I'll bet the salesman was Phil Berman.  If he's still alive, he'd be around 85.  That Central Cadillac closed around 1988.

There have been several Cadillac dealers over the years with the name "Taylor," including one in Taylor Pennsylvania.
