Title: 1939 Cadillac LaSalle
Post by: hgj1945 on October 11, 2011, 08:56:06 PM
Does anyone have a diagram of where the antenna is hooked up on the original radio?  See a plug but don't know where it plugs in.  Can anyone help?  Thank you, Helmut

I have a copy of the Cadillac installation manual supplement for 1939 . The diagrams are a little hard to figure out. The back of this radio has two different depths to it. The antenna socket should be near where they join together in the middle of the back. You don't say which antenna (vacuum or running board) you are using. There is a capacitance adjusting screw  (near socket) marked LC (vacuum) HC (running board) , it must be turned all the way in or out , follow the arrow for the proper antenna. The other screw there is for triming the antenna.Warren
