Nice job Joe. I'm just starting on the same model Caddy. Do you have a favorite parts supplier? Any one you'd recommend for front bumpers?

Hi Ed
Sorry for not getting back to you earlier. I would highly recommend Eddy Jones near Minneapolis MN. His number is
612-558-2629. He has a barn full of parts plus two 53 parts cars. Eddy is very reasonable, price wise, and just great to deal with plus, he is a wealth of information and will help you out. Aside, could you tell me about what temperature your 53 runs at and if you have any heating up problems ? Mine runs hot !

I've had a couple of Caddys with that problem. I usually start out by changing hoses, thermostat and water pump. (Also check timing.) But I did have one that I had to pull the motor, strip it to a bare block, pull the freeze plugs and use a high pressure hose to flush out the cooling passage ways. I couldn't believe the gunk that had built up in there. Hopefully, you won't have to go through that.
