Title: Oil under dash, driver's side
Post by: George D. Mukalian CLC # 10047 on May 20, 2012, 10:27:54 AM
I've noticed some oil on the floor mat, driver's side of my 1969 Cadillac Deville.
Does anyone know what it might be?

Thanks,

Check the seal with the speedo cable going into the transmission. Could be transmission fluid? Can run up the speedo cable as the cable turns. Easy check could be to pull the instrument panel and check for oil back there.

Oil light is tripped by a wire.  Won't be that.

My first thought was brake fluid -- but that's a guess.  However,
I would look at the brake petal and linkage to see is something
isn't seeping into the car.
