Title: In need of a 75 Eldorado Neutral Safety Switch, new/used...help!
Post by: sports-cars on July 09, 2012, 11:23:20 AM
A customer's 1975 Eldorado convertible at our shop is missing the neutral safety switch.  I have just been smacked around by the reality of the scarcity of these things.  If anyone has a good used or new switch, I'd love to hear from you.  I would also be interested in hearing about any kind of modification of a more readily available switch that has been proven to work...if there is such a thing.  Thanks, Joe.

Joe

I think you can still get that back up switch at your local parts store. The 74 and up Cadillacs did not have a neutral switch like the earlier Cadillacs. The neutral safety feature was in the column itself, not the switch. The back up switch was for the back up lights and the parking brake release.

I have a complete solid 76 Eldorado convertible that I am going to part out. Lots of mechanical work was done to this car, but it is apart.
