Title: '56 Eldo antenna parts
Post by: Steve Overby on July 20, 2012, 02:11:01 PM
I'm looking for an antenna motor for my '56 Eldorado, preferably rebuilt.  My original unit is reportedly damaged beyond repair.

Also, I need to replace a broken mast section...the second section from the ball/thinnest end of the mast.

I'm having trouble finding either one.  Are there any out there?

I am parting out a 56 this week and the antenna looks great, I will pull and test it for you if you like

Good antenna, bad motor, took it apart and it is toast. Everything else appears to be good.

Do you have a photo of what you need?  I found a complete antenna in my parts cabinet, marked "56",  but I am not sure.  I tested the motor & it runs.  The mast is broken / stuck. I didn't disassemble it.  I also think I have the re-chromed fender escutcheon & nut.....have to dig a little deeper...

Thanks for the reply; I think I have already found what I need.  Will know very soon.

Just in case: Klaus Wojak as a rebuild '56 antenna for sale. Expensive (about $ 600.00 if I remember), but I was satisfied with the antennas he sold me in the past.
