According to the 1937 authenticity manual (available from the CLC headquarters), there were both hub caps (smaller diameter) and accessory wheel discs (larger diameter) available for 1937.  I can't remember if I've ever seen the smaller ones on a car, but there is a picture in the authenticity manual.  The cars I've seen all have had the larger wheel discs.  Keep in mind there are 2 different larger wheel discs.  The 70 Series and below (5-stud wheels) have a 2" high mounting ring, whereas the 75-85 Series (6-stud wheels) have a 1.5" high mounting ring.  They are not interchangeable.  McVey's had the larger wheel discs.  Not sure if they still do.  It's worth giving them a call at  (913) 722-0707 .   Or contact them at http://www.mcveys.com/parts/pc/contact.asp.

I have a set of four large series hubcaps cleaned and ready for chrome plating. Minor work to be done to remove slight dents and repair some valve stem hole area. $400 the set. Offers considered - thank you.

Hi All

Thanks for your help............

Anyone that knows the cost of chrome plating as i woould like the original ones

McVeys send me this fast answer

Hello Tim,

We do still offer 1937-38 Full Wheelcovers, 16" only. The cost is $217 each
(medallions not included, $55 each for medallions.) They are a special
order item, and take 4-6 weeks before delivery.
If you wish to order, we would need to know the series of your car to insure
proper fit. If your car is a V-16, we would be unable to provide the
wheelcovers you would need.

Thank you for your inquiry, let us know if we can help you further.

Regards,

Hello Tim,
McVeys will sell you new covers and new medallions for a fixed price delivered to you in a few weeks.
I'm asking $400 for a set of original 16" wheel covers for the 70, 75, and 85 1937 big series. But a quote to me would cost $220 each by A.W. Custom Chrome. They do beautiful work but that would be $400 plus $880 for chrome and I don't have the medallions. Also, there is a rubber insert that should be included around the edge of each new cover from McVey's,
Hope this helps.

I did say in the beginning its cheaper to buy the repros, you cannot get decent chrome done for the price of McVeys caps.  I would have yours in a heartbeat Ty if they were the smaller type.

I have a set of new reproduced hubcaps on my 1938 Series 75 and they are of very high quality, would be really hard to find anyone that can rechrome used hubcaps to this condition. Chrome job is proffesional

Hi guys,

I am new to this forum and this thread actually got me here because my Dad left me a 1938 Imperial Touring Cadillac Limousine....without hubcaps.

The car is in mint condition, except we never found hubcaps because my dad was very old school in looking for parts before the internet.

Can someone point me in the right direction where I can find reproduction hubcaps for this model?

Thanks

It would seem even McVeys no longer stock them.
