Title: Wanted 1956 Cadillac door handle gaskets
Post by: Caddy_56 on December 15, 2012, 07:41:12 AM
Can't seem to find door handle gaskets for my 1956 Sedan de Ville

Those below are offered, but the bolt hole must be on the other side?

Hello

Glad to hear you are improving.

Have you considered creating it yourself?

Yes, I was thinking about that.
But when I went to the store the minimum length was one meter, which meant 4m2 of rubber foil.
Enough to last me a lifetime  :)

You could also use black gasket paper.  Chances are the car won't be out in bad weather so the paper wouldn't get saturated and damage the paint job.

You would be surprised how handy a sheet of gasket material really is to have on hand!

Steel Rubber lists them, but their image looks like what you have shown.

Maybe only one hole is needed?  The website is listed below, then fill out the search boxes and click on doors.
