Title: 1939 60 Special--rear brake springs (Lower)
Post by: Thad on May 01, 2013, 02:41:15 PM
WTB- Two springs, the ones that go over the adjusting screw at the bottom of the brake assembly.  The kit I bought has the wrong springs and I don't want to buy another kit.

Thanks for your help!!

The spring has a free length of about 3.50 inches.  The car burned and the springs were annealed

I may have a couple of used ones but I live in England. There must be millions of these in the US as they were used on almost every GM car for many years.  I cant believe someone else in you country can't help!  Show a picture of the ones that came in the new set and tell what the difference is.

This sounds like time to call Eddie Jones. He should have an abundance of those springs. I never cease to be amazed at the unique items he has been able to help with on my 41 60S.
