You will probably find some other GM models will fit also. The series 40 and 60 Buick share a few things with the 50 and 60 series Cadillac. Gas tanks are certainly interchangeable on a lot of the GM coupes of 37 and 38, but probably excluding the 60S.

Not sure where your tank is rotted but this worked for me on my '37 75 series:
The original pressing for the tank is in two halves, the top pressing is exactly the same pressing as the bottom and they are joined with a flange midway up the tank. My bottom was totally rotted out.
Split the tank at the flange (make sure there are no gas fumes or residue in it when you do), flip the top to the bottom and discard the old bottom (you may have to have the odd hole for the original fuel filler pipe and the fuel sending units etc. patched and ground - no big deal because they are just flat discs of metal) then get your local sheetmetal fabricator to make you a new top. That new top will be up against the trunk floor and nobody will ever know it isn't original. I had some angle strengtheners welded inside my flat sheet steel top surface just to replicate the original strengthening in the top of the tank.
From below and any other visible angle the tank will look exactly original.
