Hi Jason
For those of us that may be unfamiliar with the term "spat" could you please describe the part? It took an Aussie friend yours ago to show me what's spanner was!
Thanks
Randy

Guys,
I'm sure he means fender "skirt". I'm trying to learn Aussie speak before my trip.
Let's make sure that someone doesn't send him a 59 all the way to Oz.
HTH, Bob

Jason:

I'm wondering how you lost it.  Was the latch mechanism not turned all the way?  I lost one of mine that way.  I now use a wrench to be sure the latch is turned all the way to the locked position.  But you should be able to find one without too much trouble.  I recently had to replace both of mine, one due to rust issues, and one because it fell off.  Took some calling, emailing, but I was able to find replacements from Hemmings advertisers.

Definitely the removeable cover that attaches to the rear mud guard, sorry, Fender, that you have to remove to get the rear wheels off.

Not sure how you could lose one, unless the mounting points were rusted away, or someone actually stole it whilst it was parked.

If it fell off, you would sure hear it as it destroyed the rear fender.

Bruce. >:D

PS.   Bob, there are lots of words to learn, especially the ones that could really get you into strife with the ladies.

Hi Everybody that replied, I've been out of action since my post, I'll try and answer some questions.
Yes it's a fender skirt I'm after "mate" (aussie term#1 friend, pal, brother )
Reason it came off was my hub cab came off "Bugger"(aussie term#2 shit, dam, fu*k, oh no )at 60MPH and got stuck up in there and ripped the fender skirt off without damaging the body panels.
Thanks Dave I'll try hemmings advertisers.
Cheers an Aussie Bloke. aussie term#3 man, male, no a girl)

For more erudition than you wanted, a "spat" goes on a Waco, or Stinson Reliant.
