Looking to purchase a pair of used rear coil springs for a 1960 that I'm working on.
Thanks
Jeremy Weiss
Surely Marc will have 27 of them lying around. I have a spare pair I'd give you here but shipping would be up, up and away. Keep your eyes peeled for 59 Eldo inner trim.
I have a pair,I would take $80 for plus shipping. Ken Perry
Just out of curiosity, why wouldn't you want new rear coil springs?
I have replaced the springs in both my 1963 Series 62 convertible and my 1965 Sedan de Ville with new springs from Eaton Detroit Spring and I have been very pleased with the results.
Good luck with your project.
Hello Lucas
I echo your question. Eaton has a nice facility with great items and service.
If you decide to go the Eaton route, double check the spring rate in their catalog versus your shop manual.
In a recent exercise with Mike Cascio's 1962 coupe, there are no less than 8 different spring options in the shop manual (with/without air, Series 60 versus 62, 63, and 75, etc). We discovered that the replacement spring rates that they offer are on spec with a Series 75 car. If the spring rate is different, you may want to check to see if they'll produce a spring for you that matches those in the shop manual for your particular model. Too great of a spring rate, you'll have a harsher ride and a car that sits too high.
Hey guys,
The reason asking for used springs is that I need a pair for a frame that I'll be using for a body dolly. I'm looking to make the frame complete without spending the money for new springs.
Thanks Jeremy Weiss
