Title: WTB 1959 Sedan Windshield
Post by: Mick80 on April 11, 2015, 05:54:58 AM
I'm looking to buy a new or used 1959 sedan windshield for my restoration.

It doesn't need to be perfect, just legal.

Can pick up in regional NSW or Sydney

Cheers- Mick White

Is your 59 a 6-window sedan or a flat top ? The flat top windshield is the same as coupe and convertible, all GM 59 / 60 . The tall glass on the 6-window fits from any GM car, even 2-door non Cad with the tall windshield or elCamino 59 / 60. Limo,Hearse and Ambulance,59 and 60 are even taller and only fit those .If the car has the same size vent windows, as your car the windshield will fit. Measure from bottom to top on windshield also.  Auto City Classic sells a new one for around $299.oo plus shipping, but to geting it to you $$$$ I'm sure? Read the articles here recently in technical and wanted on 60 Eldorado windshield for more info. Like the Cadillac only curve. Hope this helps. Ken Perry 8)

Cheers Ken- I'm still trying to wrap my head around the parts compatibility, mine's a 6 window.

I have bought a few 50s Caddy windshields from Auto City Classic.    http://autocityclassic.com/    800 828-2212.   I was very impressed with there pricing and selection on rare windshields that nobody else seems to be able to get.

All GM sedans 1959 and 1960. Flat top, Coupe and convertible are shorter and do not fit. So--  That means a 1960 Chevy Biscayne glass will work. BUT I agree that Auto City is the best deal I know of. Just getting it to where you are is the catch. Series 75 glass is different-- Sure wish that one was avilable, the ones that claim to fit series 75 DO Not!
